January 16 is our yearly Membership Meeting and Election with talk on Citizen Science in the valley 5 pm plant exchange, 6 pm meeting
See you next week at UCR Palm Desert, please park in Lot B. The plant exchange will be by the front entrance and the meeting/talk will be upstairs in B200.

Marie will be manning the membership table where you can renew or become a member.
After our yearly membership election we are pleased to have  Colin Barrows, Conservation Coordinator at the Friends of the Desert Mountains give a talk on iNaturalist and the local citizen science projects we have going on in the desert. Hopefully this year will be a banner wildflower year but also maybe a banner weed year.  You can help the community map wildflower, weeds and other wildlife like bees, birds, mammals and reptiles with iNaturalist. It’s a free app designed by the California Academy of Sciences and is a fun way for all ages to interact with our environment and is for the expert or novice alike. Crowd sourcing helps answer questions and identify your findings.  The board of has recommended a slate of officers for the coming year.
