Waterwise Botanicals Succulent Saturday

EVENT INFO

Succulent Saturday at Waterwise Botanicals

Join us on Saturday, September 1 for a field trip to Waterwise Botanicals Succulent Saturday in Bonsall for our Desert Horticultural Society of the Coachella Valley members. If you enjoyed Tom Jesch’s talk on Opuntia Hybrids "So Pretty, it Hurts” at last year’s 12th Annual Desert Garden Community Day, you will love visiting the nursery where they were propagated. We visited Tom at their Succulent Celebration in March and saw many of these beautiful opuntia in bloom. This is a gorgeous nursery with succulents, natives, perennials, trees and shrubs for sale. They have a wonderful variety of plants. They also have beautifully arranged succulent containers. EVENT UPDATE This Saturday's event will have a succulent container workshop that is ongoing from 9 to noon, there are 3 size containers priced at $15, $22 and $45 for a Buddha head. There is a free kids workshop and they will have fish feeding at 10am. Mahalo Shave Ice Co. will be there selling snacks, coffee and shave ice. There will be a succulent giveaway as long as supplies last. This is a sample of a medium-sized arrangement you can make on Succulent Saturday. After our tour and shopping we may have lunch at the nursery (they usually have food truck(s) on Succulent Saturday) and for those who want to bring a bag lunch there are picnic tables onsite. For those who want to head to a restaurant the Z Cafe, 760-940-1751, looks worth a visit, Hawaiian food, burgers and sandwiches, cool menu selection. We can head home after lunch. Click here for a map of the day. For those who would like to carpool we will leave from the Wellness Park in Palm Springs at 8:30am. Hope to see you there!
