With their endless potentiality for geometry, repetition and color, planters have become an essential design element in modern landscape and home decor. Explore all the fascinating combinations and possibilities containers provide with the women who created an entire store on the subject, Potted. Besides inspiring you with ideas, original designs and installations they have curated over the years, Mary Gray and Annette Goliti Gutierrez will also be sharing some of the ideas from their new book, “Potted: Make Your Own Stylish Garden Containers,” showing you how to create your own stunning modern containers. Mary Gray and Annette Goliti Gutierrez met many years ago in their former lives in the film industry. Mary was an art director and set decorator and Annette was a screenwriter with a passion for home and garden renovation. In 2004, with no retail experience, the two women opened Potted in Los Angeles, a store they envisioned to be a mecca for like-minded, design-loving, garden enthusiasts, people like them who wanted to shop for the outdoor area of their homes with the same choices and style available for interior decor. Over the years, with their own original designs plus a keen eye for the unusual and unexpected, Potted has become an outdoor-lifestyle destination. Most recently the pair finished their first book, “Potted: Make Your Own Stylish Garden Containers,” sharing their knowledge of design and how-to capability. Tickets are required. Please RSVP here.
